LEDUS worked with WALSALL ACADEMY to upgrade the quality and brightness of lighting, for its staff and students, throughout their buildings: classrooms, offices, corridors, sports hall, and parking area. Upgrading from costly and inefficient halogen spotlights, incandescent bulbs, and fluorescent strip lights, WALSALL ACADEMY now has almost 1,700 modern, energy-efficient LED lights in operation. This installation reduced the Academy’s carbon footprint and energy consumption by almost 60%. LEDUS is delighted to report that WALSALL ACADEMY is making energy savings of over £23,000 per year. Over the lifetime of the project it’s anticipated that the school will save over £300,000 and reduce CO2 emissions by 1,200 tonnes.
